Urban Quest has collaborated with hundreds of schools across Victoria, offering engaging school activities in Melbourne that strike a balance between fun and meaningful learning outcomes.
Whether you’re planning an excursion to the city or an on-campus incursion, our programs are designed to fit seamlessly into your school calendar.
Urban Quest’s school programs are Melbourne’s most structured approach to team building for students. Unlike one-off activities, each program is designed to develop specific capabilities — communication, leadership, resilience, and creative thinking — through collaborative challenge rather than passive instruction.
Both our excursion and incursion formats serve as complete school team building experiences that teachers can integrate into professional development days, leadership programs, or end-of-term celebrations.
What year levels are Urban Quest programs suitable for?
Our school programs are designed for students in all years from Foundation (Prep) to Y12, with challenge complexity adjusted for each age group. Both primary and secondary schools can enjoy engaging activities tailored to suit their students’ abilities and learning outcomes.
Do students need smartphones or tablets to participate?
Not necessarily. We offer both tech-based and paper-based versions of our programs. Secondary students typically use their own smartphones to interact with our platform, while younger students or groups without device access can enjoy an equally engaging paper-based format.
How long does each Urban Quest program run?
Most excursions run for around 2.5 hours, while incursions – 1.5 hours, including briefing, gameplay, and a wrap-up session. We can adapt timing to suit your school schedule or travel requirements if needed.
What do teachers need to do during the event?
Very little! Once we start, our facilitators take full control of the event. Teachers are welcome to observe, join a team, or simply enjoy watching students collaborate and problem-solve in real time.
What happens if it rains on the day of an excursion?
No problem — Urban Quest has a weather contingency plan for our CBD programs. In most cases, we switch to our alternative indoor experience, ensuring your event goes ahead seamlessly regardless of conditions.
Can Urban Quest come to regional schools or host at our campus?
Absolutely. Our school incursions are fully mobile — we bring the experience to you, setting up across your school grounds and outdoor spaces. We travel across Victoria, so regional schools are welcome to get in touch for availability.
Are your programs linked to curriculum or personal development outcomes?
Yes. Urban Quest activities align with the Victorian Curriculum capabilities including Personal and Social Capability and Critical and Creative Thinking.
Students practise communication, collaboration, and problem-solving in an authentic, interactive setting.
